I have been fascinated with the craft of fine woodworking for almost ten years. Woodworking has become a constant serious avocation and it is one of my forms of expression.
Right now, I consider myself a “general practitioner” of the craft determined to make almost everything: From elegant cutting boards, to kitchen utensils, boxes and turnings, to fine furniture like bookcases, dressers, tables and chairs.
Apart from doing woodworking, I am the owner and manager of Nielsen Magic, a company that specializes in a line of magic apparatus for magicians, and the buying, selling, trading and reproduction of vintage magic posters.
My background is in theater and magic. I have attended theatrical schools and have a theater degree with emphasis in technical theater. In the magic field I started at age four, and since then I have performed in every single venue: stage, parlor, close-up, corporate work and much more. I started making props for magicians in 1993 while working for Collector’s Workshop in Northern Virginia, and have been fascinated with magic apparatus since then.
After a lifetime of traveling with magic, several years ago, I settled down and decided to start learning the nuances of fine woodworking. Working with my hands is very satisfying and knowing that I make heirloom-quality items of long lasting beauty is a rewarding experience.
Thank you for visiting my personal website. In it you will find my woodworking store, with the latest wooden items and furniture I have built, along with my blog. The blog will be a work in progress with topics on woodworking, magic, odd interests and life in general. You are also welcome to follow me on Instagram (@nnmagic.lupe) or on Facebook (under Nielsen Magic) or to contact me from the form on this site.
